Chicory Solar
Energy Center
The Chicory Solar Energy Center is an opportunity to boost the local economy in Keene Township in Ionia County and create jobs, all while generating clean, American made energy to meet Michigan's growing electricity demand. The proposed 100 megawatt project is located in Keene Township, approximately 10 miles west of Ionia and 1.5 miles north of Saranac.
At peak construction, the Chicory Solar Energy Center is expected to
support hundreds of construction jobs, including an estimated 89 new local jobs in Keene Township.
The Chicory Solar Energy Center will invest tens of millions of dollars into Keene Township in Ionia County through wages and benefits, annual land costs and landowner payments, and local taxes, helping fund essential services for the community.
